Eliminate splash screen load time

HI Team,

Is it possible to create a splash page that shows as soon as the app starts.

Currently I use the start up page as the splash screen.
But still this page takes 34 second to load itself and show the picture on it, before timeout and navigate to another page.

I wonder if it's possible to eliminate the 34 second load time . I am using jQM by the way.

Please use JS code: pre navigator.splashscreen.hide();/pre on the event "Device ready"

Thanks, but my question is how can I create a real 'splash page'?

navigator.splashscreen.show() should display a splash page according to PhoneGap documentation

HI Sergiy,

I found the option to add splash images in project settings. But I added the images for android but they don't show when the app starts.

Am I missing anything?

To make them work you should add images of all sizes. Please confirm that you have uploaded all images of corresponding sizes?

Hi Alena,
I built the apk and installed on my cellphone and the it is working now.
But the pictures are stretched and look creepy on my phone.
My phone is 1080 x 1920, bigger than any of the 4 sizes for android.
I guess that's why.
Is there way to add a splash image that fit on all screen sizes. Or can i use html+css for splash page. ?

Hi Sergiy,

I am confused.

In the link, it says:
Each file must have a specific size and must be uploaded to the appropriate folder:

lhdpi: 162×162
mdpi: 242×242
hdpi: 322×322
xhdpi: 482×482

By why in the app settings it requires the following 4 sizes?

426x320
470x320
640x480
960x720

Which are correct?

Hi Sergiy,

I have created 4 square images and uploaded to respective folders in the source.
Here's the xhdpi one.

I added two dots at left and top edge , hoping them to repeat.
But on my android phone, it expanded, but it is not centered, see below.
Am I doing anything wrong?
