Using list item component with nested component and split button

Hello. I have problem with List Item component. I want to use "split button" option but once i try to nest any other component inside the list (grid, image, label etc.) it immediately returns to regular list appearance (no split button). How can I prevent this?

Thanks for your response. Katya did you mean to use Select component instead of List item component?
As to your question Max, please take look at the screenshot. I have dragged Label component to the second Item. As you can see it no longer has its button split. All other items are unchanged.
Once I delete the label (or any other component dragged) this item returns to the "normal" appearance with button split.

Thanks for your answer. Though I'am not a skilled JS programmer I will try to follow your guides, or stick to more simple List item version.
