Well.. what happened with me was quite simple. I'm on a standard plan and I am on the old pay scale. I went to add another seat so I could have another developer do some work. I went into accounts, changed the seats from 1 to 2 and clicked next. It then told me I had to change plans. So for the sake of argument, just going an adding a seat isn't easy. I figured, since I'm grandfathered in, my 15 would then be 25. This is not the case. So if I wanted to "un-grandfather myself" and stay on the standard plan and have one extra seat, it goes from 15/month for me, and no developer to 25/month for me and 25/month for the other developer which is 50/month (I cannot remember if there's tax). May just be a gotta ya by the balls moment, since well, I have researched and nothing out there really compares to appery, and their support is quite impressive. I still am really frustrated that I cannot just give them some money for an extra seat so i can get some help with my project. It is what it is. I do 'like' it here and frankly I've been working for like 6 months on this and don't really want to port it over somewhere else. I'll just drink more coffee in the morning and more beer at night.

From additional conversations, I do have faith that Appery is looking into this more closely so perhaps there will be a resolution. I agree that there's no comparable platform to Appery, which makes it difficult to just go away like I would normally do in this situation.

Hey Max,

Code: Select all

I have similar concerns. I want to build a team to share project to to get help from other developers. But as I have grandfathered plan I cannot do this. The new pricing seems high for me and strange in terms you cannot share accross multiple accounts and you have to build a team. As this makes plans more restricted in terms of sharing as you have to have teams and specific plans.

@Jason: If yo choose the annual plan, it is only $19/month/developer. One of the reason we raised prices is because we are growing pretty fast, we have a lot of users and a lot of computing resources are being used. We have to pay for these resources. We want to be successful and stay in business. I'm pretty sure you want us to stay in business as well. Even at $25/month/developer - I think Appery.io still provides great value.

If you go with the annual plan, it is only $19/month/developer (only $4 more than the old price)
