Do I need to install the App through the App Store or can I test this using the App installed through XCode?

Hi Bahar - you'll need to install it on a device, there is no need to publish it to AppStore. Tell us about the result.

That is what I did. Installed to the device, but push does not work.

I simply download the xCode project. Open it in xCode and then run the app on an actual device. What am I missing? I am sure it is at my end, but what?

How you run it - do you compile it and then install on a device?
And what xCode version are you using?

xCode version 5.0.2

To run the app on an actual device, I first select the device and then click the Play button on the top left corner.

Ok, I finally got it to work. The error was on my side with provisioning.

I am trying to follow the push notifications documentation. I was trying to register a device. I followed the instructions and created a service to register a device.

when I try to test the service it fails when the following message ""code":"PNDR002",
"description":"app id not specified""

I followed the instructions for locating the app id. I pulled it out of the url between [project/"appid"/editor]
I also have a question how I do i get an actual device id of my phone into the database

May I know what's wrong with your provisioning? I have exactly the same problem, and my iPad is not getting the notification even though everything seems to be fine
