Blackberry phones not rendering mobile websites

Are Blackberry phones supposed to render mobile websites as well as iOS/Android?

I have built a mobile website for a client which can be found here:

It's not rendering as designed and the button clicks aren't working

I tried it on a Blackberry 9380 Simulator and although it displayed the index page, the following was not working:

1. background colour

2. list control - background colours missing and unable to click list items - clicking any of the button returns back to the top of the home page

3. button and image clicking events don't seem to work

   My client has a Blackberry Curve and is keen to see it work on that.

   I read the following on the Jquery site for Blackberry 5 site:

   "This platform has B grade support which means that all the enhanced styles and widgets work well within the CSS capabilities of the device, but Ajax navigation and page transitions aren’t supported so links and form submits result in a full page refresh.

   Ajax navigation was problematic on BB5 because it lacks hashchange support for the history stack whcih essentially broke the back button behavior so disabling this feature resolves that issue and also speeds up the user experience. These devices tend to be fairly under-powered so very complex pages can take a bit longer to render but overlaly it works very well. There are of a few style improvements we need to tidy up, but sites built with jQuery Mobile should now work well on this platform."

I tested on BlackBerry PlayBook 2.0 - it seemed to work fine. I'll have our dev. team test on BlackBerry phones. I'll update here.

As a bit of extra info I navigated to another one of my tiggzi projects which uses a standard blue theme (www.liketohelp.com/mobile) on the Blackberry and it displayed fine.

However, selecting from the list control item still doesn't work. The title tag seems to change to the selected page but it doesn't take you to the page. If I go to the page directly (www.liketohelp.com/mobile/screen-A20B...) then it display fine. The collapsable block works and the list control at the bottom of that page works. I think it's because those list control items link to external URLs.

So the problem seems to be when list control items link to another page within the project it doesn't navigate to the page on a Blackberry phone. I have set the transition effect to Default.

Hi,

The Blackberry Curve model number is:

Blackberry 9300 v5.0.0.977 (platform 6.3.0.6.3)

I would be grateful if you are able to test it on that version and let me know whether the custom theme and navigation is working.

Have you tried putting your mobile site address into an iFrame tag via the Panel widget? That worked for me.
