Imput current date and time on creation of collection record

I'm creating an app for student checkin-checkout. I have a column for checkin time/date and another for checkout time and date. I need it so the current time is entered when the record is created, but I couldn't find any information on using time (other than datepicker- which isn't what I want)

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks
