deviceID or token when posting to Devices

Hi,

I've set up a checklistgroup to assign "channels" to the devices collection. I'm using "deviceID" as the identifier for the row, but I'm wondering if I should be using "token" instead seen as it stays consistent even if the app is deleted then re-installed?

kind regards

Paul

deviceID or token when posting to Devices

Hello Paul,

token is unique app instance identifier
deviceId is unique device identifier

More information here:

https://devcenter.appery.io/documenta...

So if you reinstall app, appery.io will update token value

deviceID or token when posting to Devices

Hi Sergiy,

"deviceId is a unique device identifier". However I am finding that the phone is assigned a new deviceId if I delete then re-install the app.

This is not a problem, if this is also automatically updated in the "devices" section of the predefined collections.

So I suppose my question is, can I have confidence that the deviceId in the collection is always in sync with the current deviceId of a device?

Yes Paul,

It is impossible to have the same deviceId for different devices.
